Jefo Continues Legacy of Excellence with 11th Canada's Best Managed Companies Recognition

Saint-Hyacinthe, May 14, 2026 — For the eleventh consecutive year, Jefo is proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies. This distinction highlights the quality of its management, the strength of its strategic direction, and a corporate culture firmly centered on people. Jefo also maintains its Platinum Club status for a fifth year, reflecting the consistency of its performance and the rigor of its governance.

With more than 400 employees in Canada and around the world, and a presence in over 80 countries, Jefo’s teams share a common ambition: to transform agriculture in order to meet the challenges of tomorrow. For more than 40 years, this collective vision has guided the Saint-Hyacinthe-based company through market changes and supported its sustained growth, both in Canada and internationally.

Jefo brings this vision to life through major investments, including a $256.4 million flagship project featuring, among other things, a new poultry research center and the expansion of its production capacity. These initiatives aim to accelerate the development of high-precision, non-medicated nutritional solutions for livestock. The company also stands out for its commitment to communities by supporting initiatives that promote the sustainable development of the agri-food sector and the well-being of the communities where it operates.

“Receiving this recognition once again is an honor, but above all a reminder of the responsibility we carry as an employer and socio-economic contributor. It encourages us to continue our efforts with rigor and ambition, in order to keep creating sustainable value for our teams, our partners, and the communities we serve,” concludes Jean Fontaine, President and Founder of Jefo Group.

Sustainable management at Jefo is also reflected in governance focused on the future and continuity. At a time when business succession is a major challenge for many companies, Jefo ensures its long-term sustainability through a well-established second generation of leadership, composed of Jean-François, Emilie, and Anthony Fontaine. This structured transition preserves the company’s founding values while ensuring a stable and sustainable strategic vision for the years ahead.

“This distinction primarily reflects the strength of our management and the quality of our leadership team here in Saint-Hyacinthe. Day after day, our managers and teams work with rigor, vision, and consistency, supported by an engaged executive committee aligned around a shared ambition. It is this collective discipline and management culture that drive our performance. This award belongs to them,” says Emilie Fontaine, Vice President, Brand and Products.

“For more than 30 years, the Best Managed program has recognized companies that see challenges as checkpoints and obstacles as opportunities,” said Derrick Dempster, Partner, Deloitte Private, and Co-Leader of Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “This year’s winners, including Jefo, have combined strategic expertise and a culture of innovation to not only deliver strong business results, but also serve their communities. They should be very proud of this achievement and use it as a catalyst to continue the work they do every day,” he continued.

Together, the practices of the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada in 2026 help strengthen the Canadian economy by fostering sustainable growth, enhancing competitiveness, and cultivating a thriving business ecosystem. Jefo is fully aligned with this momentum through its international presence, the development of sustainable nutritional solutions, and its contribution to the economic vitality of the communities where it operates.
