Our guest - Victoria Asselstine

Victoria began working at a mixed-animal hospital when she was 14, marking her first experience working with dairy cows. She then attended the University of Guelph, where she completed her B.Sc. in Animal Biology. During that time, she completed an internship with Dr. Trevor DeVries which further fueled her interest in dairy cattle, particularly in health and nutrition. She continued her education at the University of Guelph, where her graduate research (M.Sc 2018; Ph.D. 2021) used OMICs technologies to understand the functional genetics influencing phenotypic differences between healthy and mastitic animals. Victoria is currently completing a post-doctorate at the University of Guelph, specializing in mastitis and feed efficiency in Holstein dairy cows. In May of 2023, she joined Jefo as a Ruminant Technical consultant.
