Vitamin B Benefits Stressed Cattle
Calves often face significant stress during weaning or when entering a new feedlot, which can weaken their immune system and increase disease risk. In collaboration with Jefo Nutrition, Shoki Hirano of the Iowa State University conducted a new research with 200 calves exploring how vitamin supplementation could help support cattle during this critical period. The results showed that calves receiving a blend of B vitamins and other key nutrients stayed healthy longer, required fewer treatments, and showed improved immune function and reduced inflammation.
These findings highlight the potential of targeted vitamin supplementation to support calf health and performance during stressful transitions.
